Very proud to have presented my work alongside my colleague Julia Cohen at the Rencontre technique et numérique du CNES.
This year’s event was strongly focused on the new possibilities offered by artificial intelligence for the space industry. It was a great occasion to see all the incredible innovations developed by CNES engineers: new image-processing tools, improved data pipeline from satellites to users, digital twins, and much more. But this year, I was particularly interested in the impressive progress made on onboard AI, highlighted by the excellent presentation by Clément Coggiola and Stéphane May.
On our side, while Julia tackled the exciting subject of foundation models for Earth Observation, I presented the amazing progress we made on leveraging raw satellite data for real-time onboard AI. I dived into the technicalities of FPGA deployment and the significant advantages of having a smart satellite capable of operating autonomously across a wide range of applications (vessel detection, change detection…).
